As a survivor who lost everything, 17-year-old Zodiak wants nothing more than to uphold justice and to protect others from suffering the same loss he did. But after his mentor Darian is murdered by the hands of war, Zodiak loses himself in his grief and becomes fixated on bringing criminals to justice by any means, regardless of the cost. This behavior lands him in a court martial, and further insubordination leaves him stranded on a hostile planet after a dogfight with two fugitives.

With a caustic military robot as his only form of aide, Zodiak must get off-world within 65 hours before the toxic environment - or something else - kills him. Zodiak then discovers that the fugitives have willingly landed on the planet to escape their own plight, and thus have become his only hope of escape. With time running out, Zodiak must face who he has become and choose between risking his life to save them all - or leaving the fugitives to a horrible death.
